"I like to the paint landscapes of the wide-open spaces of the American Southwest, funky old buildings and cars in old western towns or big cities like Chicago, flowers and food, cactus and mountains, patterns of light and shadows and bright vivid colors. I love to travel and paint. Sitting on the edge of a 600-foot drop in the Grand Canyon or at an abandon ranch with a set of paints is my idea of heaven. I want to capture the essence and the feeling of location or a subject, not a photographic representation. I hope my paintings capture my enjoyment, humor and sense of wonder." |
